Raleigh Boychoir (USA)

 Thomas E. Sibley founded the choir in 1968 because of his concern about the lack of choral experiences and performance opportunities for boys whose voices had not changed. He believed a boychoir could be instrumental in developing and channeling boys' talents as well as giving them oportunities to perform great choral music. Thus the Raleigh Boychoir was established with 20 boys and $50 contributed by the Raleigh Woman'sClub.

 Since then, the Raleigh Boychoir has more than 80 boys. Recognitions have included 7 invitations to perform at the White House, at the World's Fair, at the First Flight Centennial, at the American Choral Director's Association Convention in Savannah, Georgia, and with the oratorio societies aross the state. The choir ha appeared with the North Carolina Symphony everal times. In 1994the choir accepte an invitation to paticipate with the International Children' Choir at Carnegie Hall and returned that same year from their European Concert tour.

Palestrina Choir (Ireland)

The Palestrina Choir has its origins in a boychoir formed in the 1890's by Dr. Vincent O'Brien. Back in 1903 the choir was formed through the generous patronage of a wealthy landowner from Galway, Edward Martyn. Following a number of visits to the great cathedrals of Europe he was determined that Dublin would have music of an equal standard and wished in particular to promote the music of the Italian composer Palestrina, who was considered the father of liturgical music.
Today the choir is committed to combine traditional styles with innovative contemporary sacred music in the service of the liturgy. In addition to its liturgical duties at St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral, Dublin, the choir has given many concerts in Ireland and overseas and has featured regularly on radio and television.
